Precautions for Muffle Furnace Operation

As general heating equipment, the muffle furnace plays an important role in thermal processing, industrial workpiece processing, cement, building materials industries, thermal processing or treatment of small workpieces, and pharmaceutical industry, analytical chemical industry, coal quality analysis, and other fields. The normal operation of the muffle furnace can ensure the smooth progress of the experiment and work. Therefore, before using the muffle furnace, the operator should carefully read the instructions and pay attention to the following matters:

1. When using the electric muffle furnace for the first time or after a long period of inactivity, the oven must be dried;

2. Before the experiment, avoid vibration of the thermostat, and place it too close to the electric furnace, so as to avoid overheating and make the electronic components unable to work normally, and turn off the power switch when moving the thermostat;

3. Before use, the temperature controller needs to be adjusted to the required working temperature, and the start code is turned on to power on the muffle furnace. If the ammeter has a reading at this time, and the temperature measured by the temperature control meter gradually rises, it means that the muffle furnace and temperature The controllers are working normally.

Electric Muffle Furnace

In addition to the above precautions, the following points should be paid attention to during the use of the muffle furnace:

1. The working environment requires no flammable and explosive materials and corrosive gases;

2. It is forbidden to directly pour various liquids and molten metals into the furnace, and keep the furnace clean. When in use, the furnace temperature shall not exceed the maximum furnace temperature, and shall not work for a long time at the rated temperature;

3. The furnace door should be closed and opened slightly during use to prevent damage to the parts. At the same time, the crucible tongs should be handled gently when taking samples to ensure safety and avoid damage to the furnace;

4. Do not open the furnace door after the temperature exceeds 600 degrees, and wait for the temperature in the furnace to cool down before opening the furnace door;

5. After the experiment is completed, the sample is withdrawn from heating and the power is turned off. When the sample is placed in the furnace, the furnace door should be opened first, and the sample should be carefully clamped after the sample has cooled to prevent burns;

6. The heated crucible should be transferred to a desiccator for cooling.
